Bill is a readability consultant and technical writer who has conducted numerous plain language workshops for corporations, writing groups and government agencies, in addition to writing and editing a wide variety of  user guides, marketing materials, help documents and training manuals.

 

Since 2001 Bill has written and published the “Plain Language at Work Newsletter,” and in 2007 published two authoritative readability books entitled “Smart Language: Readers, Readability and the Grading of Text,” and “Unlocking Language: The Classic Readability Studies.”
